Student Leadership

At our school, student leadership is a key part of school life. We believe that giving students meaningful leadership opportunities helps them to develop confidence, communication skills, responsibility, teamwork and the ability to make a positive difference within the school community.

School Parliament

Our School Parliament meets every term and provides students with a practical experience of democracy in action.

Each tutor group elects a Form MP. These representatives act as the voice of their tutor group and are responsible for:

  • Gathering feedback from students
  • Raising ideas, concerns and suggestions
  • Reporting back on discussions and decisions from parliament meetings
  • Helping students understand how they can contribute to school improvement

This process ensures that all students have the opportunity to share their views and play a role in shaping school life.

Parliament Committees

Every Form MP is also a member of a specialist committee. These committees allow students to explore issues in greater depth and work closely with senior staff to help improve different aspects of the school.

Our committees are:

  • Personal Development
  • Behaviour
  • Enrichment
  • Wellbeing
  • Curriculum
  • Facilities

Through committee work, students develop important discussion, problem-solving and leadership skills while helping to improve the school experience for everyone.
